This 1879-built and once thriving rural school hall was a complete ruin. It had been abandoned, stripped for building parts and marked with fire damage. Undeterred by any obstacles, the clients set out to restore the school to its former glory while thoughtfully transforming the building into a home.

Extensive historical research informed the design brief. Based on limited photographic and written records, great effort has been taken to source and restore original materials and details,

The school house allowed for an open plan design of the living spaces with exposed trusses and dramatic ceiling height.

Once completed, the project will be much deserving of a heritage title.
